LEVEL 3 (information
only, not a part of the National Program)
All persons, 16 years
and older, who pay the level 3 fee, attend an advanced
clinic, achieved 86% or higher on the current Level
3 exam, and have been field evaluated at Bantam AAA
or better, achieving at least 86% on both plate and
base.
To maintain
Level 3, members must pay the level 3 fee each year, achieve
at least 86% or higher on the Level 3 exam each year, attend
an advanced clinic at
least once every 3 years, and be field evaluated at Bantam
AAA or better,
achieving at least 86% on both plate and base once every
3 years. (Note: if an
individual fails a field evaluation, but had passed previously
within the 3 year
period, he or she is still considered to hold a successful
field evaluation.) The
deadline for submission of the Level 3 exam is December 31 for the following year (ie: the 2007 exam must be written by December 31 of 2006 for consideration for the 2007 year tournaments); Level 3 exams submitted later than or postmarked
after December 31 of the previous year will
not be considered valid. Once a person achieves Level 3
he or she will not lose
it in the year that a field rating expires or clinic attendance
expires solely by the
reason of the expiration. (In other words an individual
will lose the rating if he or
she fails the exam but will maintain the rating till the
end of the year that the field
evaluation and/or clinic attendance expires)
All persons that have
a National rating are presumed to be Level 3 provincially.
Should that person lose their National rating for any
reason, they will revert to Level 3 for one year, and
thereafter must comply with the requirements for maintaining
a level 3.
No umpire, who has registered for the current year, shall drop more than
one level from the previous year because of a failure to complete qualifications
for that previously held level.
For further clarification
Nationally rated umpires must pay the Level 3 fee to
be a member of this association and no ‘Level’ may
be maintained in any year without paying at least the
membership fee for that level in the year in question.
If
you fail to comply with the above criteria you
will forfeit your card for the following year.
The responsibility will be the umpires to make
the necessary arrangements for evaluation through
the Provincial Supervisor.
